Dr. Fernandez is a native of North Carolina and graduated from Duke University in 1994 and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 2000. After completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program with the Navy, he served for three years onboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). Upon leaving the Navy in 2004, Dr. Fernandez assumed the practice of a retiring dentist and has modernized the facilities and equipment.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Fernandez is a Fellow of the Virginia Dental Association and is past President of the Tidewater Dental Association. He is also a member of several local study clubs and a past member of the Young Alumni Council at the dental school. Dr. Fernandez was awarded the New Dentist Award by the Virginia Dental Association in 2007 and was named a "Top Dentist" in Virginia Living Magazine voted on by his peers every year since 2010.
Dr. Fernandez lives in Virginia Beach with his wife and three children. Together they enjoy the beach, boating, and spending time together.
